Lyzie Burt with Mise en Scene & Claire Morrison

Im Trying Records and UMFM are proud to present:
LYZIE BURT: "Cigarettes and You"
w/ Mise en Scene and Claire Morrison of Fire and Smoke

Friday, January 20
The show will be at the Lo Pub, 330 Kennedy Street.
Tickets will be $7 at the door.
The doors open at 9:00, music to begin at 10.

Lyzie Burt is a 19 year old singer/songwriter who grew up in Selkirk, MB. Her music and melodies have been described as, "melancholy, with a twist that glues you to your chair". Lyzie is very active in the local music scene, lending her voice to local bands The Blisters, Zoppa and Little House.

Mise en Scene is a female duo indie pop rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jodi, the punk rock power drummer sits stage right to Stef, vocals/guitar whose voice has been compared to that of Neko Case and Zooey Deschanel. Their sound ranges from 60s girl group pop to hard rock’n’roll!

Claire is 1/2 of the Winnipeg Folk duo Fire and Smoke.
Claire Morrison and Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner discovered in each other the potential for what is now Fire & Smoke. With her "decadently rich...voice" (Sandbox Magazine) and his feel-them-in-your-bones harmonies, the pair is garnering attention from CBC/Radio-Canada and has earned a spot at Granby's International Festival of Song in September 2012.  Fire & Smoke’s haunting style and boldly intimate storytelling will leave you with an ache in your soul, a song in your heart, and a knowing twinkle in your eye.
