Small Works Gallery Opening: Above and Below
Charles Johnston, aka ‘C5’, has been creating public art for 25 years. Charles' experiences with mural art, sign writing, sculpture casting, comic art, digital and traditional art have fused together in his evolving role as a Canadian artist.
Above & Below explore the relationship between the Eternal and the Mortal worlds. Architectural cornices of Winnipeg’s Exchange District represent the world of man with the sky as their infinite counterpart. Both parts occupy equal area of the canvas. Aerial and sky painting explores the perspective from ‘on high’.
