Mighty Popo l Phoebe Mann l Ray Bonneville

The West End Cultural Centre presents:

The Mighty Popo w/ Phoebe Mann
September 20
Doors 7:15 pm | Show 8:00 pm
Tickets: $18 advance | $23 door

Say that The Mighty Popo is a Rwandan/Burundian refugee/survivor whose music is steeped in African tradition, but you’d hardly be getting at the whole story of one of Canada’s rising stars.

Phoebe has been playing the traditional Japanese art form of taiko drumming since 1989. Along with having been a founding member of local taiko group Fubuki Daiko, Phoebe has collaborated across diverse cultural lines with world music ensembles SAND and Just Drummin. Phoebe is the former Artistic Director of Fusion Dance Theatre, a passionate percussion enthusiast and taiko educator.
