McNally Robinson: Al Simmons & Coral Hetherington

Friday April 1, 10:00 am
Grant Park in the Atrium

Please come to McNally Robinson for this special storytime funfest with Juno award winning children’s performer Al Simmons, full of bizarre gadgets, wild costumes, unique songs, crazy vaudeville-inspired routines and, of course, bad puns.

A creative genius with the soul of a vaudevillian, Al Simmons is a one-man cast of thousands!

The idea of Gus the Wrong-Way Goose was inspired by Coral's youngest son Sean, his struggle with Dyslexia and his ability to “find his own way”. She conceived the story back in 1994 with the hopes that one day her oldest son, Eric, would illustrate it for her.

Coral Hetherington has had a varied and exciting working career including being a freelance writer/ producer, a Media Specialist for the Manitoba Government, a television instructor at Red River College and an entrepreneur. Presently she is the Accounts Manager at Brematson & Associates, a company that advocates for the disabled.

Eric Hetherington is a graduate of Digital Multimedia Technology from Red River College. He works as a freelance artist, designer and videographer.

This is their first book, but they hope to continue collaborating to create further adventures for Gus.
