McNally Robinson
King: A Life Guided by the Hand of Destiny is a biography of Canada’s most eccentric and most important prime minister, Mackenzie King, and his defining influence on our 20th century. Drawing from King’s remarkable diary, Allan Levine draws a multidimensional portrait touched by animated prose and a subtle wit.
Allan Levine is an award-winning author and historian. He has written ten books including Coming of Age: A History of the Jewish People of Manitoba, which won the McNally Robinson Book of the Year and the Best History Book Award at the Canadian Jewish Book Awards in 2010, and was the co-winner of the J.I. Segal Prize in Canadian Jewish History.
Levine received a Ph.D. in history from the University of Toronto and has taught history and world issues at St. John’s-Ravenscourt School in Winnipeg since 1984.
