This evening, at McNally Robinson, award-winning author Guy Gavriel Kay will be joined by SHAW TV's Joanne Kelly for a discussion on the writing of his latest novel, Under Heaven.

After winning the 2008 World Fantasy Award for his novel Ysabel, Guy Gavriel Kay returns to the sweeping historical fantasy epics that have earned him legions of devoted fans. 

Under Heaven takes place in a world inspired by the glory and power of Tang Dynasty China in the 8th century, a world in which history and the fantastic meld into something both memorable and emotionally compelling.

Under Heaven is currently nominated for the 2011 Locus Award for best Fantasy novel, the Aurora Award as best speculative fiction novel and the Mythopoetic Society’s best fantasy novel award.

Guy Gavriel Kay is the author of ten novels. His work has been translated into twenty-one languages. He has twice won the Aurora Award and is the recipient of the International Goliardos Award for his contributions to the literature of the fantastic.
