Manitoba Writers’ Guild's In Dialogue Reading Series


The In Dialogue Reading Series presents one reading per month, October through April, celebrating literature across a wide variety of genres. 
Each reading features two authors in presentation, followed by a conversation. 
Hosted by Michelle Elrick.

All readings take place at the WFP News Cafe, Mondays at 7:30 pm. 
The Café will be offering a $10 pasta buffet, and is licensed. 
Come early for dinner, or save your appetite until 7:30.

Standard Subscription – $50: admission to all 7 readings 
Partner Subscription – $100: admission, plus a $50 donation to the MWG 

Single Tickets – $10/reading, sold at the door. 
As seating is limited, advance reservations are encouraged, but not required.

October 22: Eden Robinson & Katherena Vermette
Two provocative writers in a joint reading of fiction and poetry.

November 5: George Amabile & Roo Borson
An evening of poetry featuring two strong lyric voices.

December 10: Dave Bidini & hannah_g
This musician/author and storyteller/artist bring narrative alive.

January 14: Charles Leblanc & Marc Prescott
The 2nd annual French language reading, this one featuring a poet and a playwright.

February 11: bill bissett & Nereo II
Poetry blends to spoken word in the hands of these two groundbreaking artists.

March 11: Joan Thomas & Dianne Warren
Masters of Canadian fiction, these award-winning authors read from new work.

April 8: Esmé Claire Keith & Sue Sorensen
Two winners from the 2011 Manitoba Book Awards in a reading of new fiction.

Joan Thomas, Writer-in-Residence at the Winnipeg Public Library is at work on a contemporary novel.  She is the author of two novels, Curiosity and Reading by Lightning.  Joan was a long-time contributing reviewer for the Globe and Mail.
