Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan's “Bedtime Stories” l Winnipeg Now Artist Panel with KC Adams and Dominique Rey

November 2 and 16 and December 7, 8:30 pm
Included with Gallery admission

Bedtime stories aren’t just for kids!
Certainly not when they are told by performance artist Shawna Dempsey as she reads from the very adult book Bedtime Stories for the Edge of the World, written by performance artists Lorri Millan and Shawna as part of the WAG exhibition Winnipeg Now which features the work of 13 of Winnipeg’s most creative artists.

Our interest was in the women of the ‘New World.’ So our tales follow pirate queens, inventrixes, sideshow performers, plucky spinsters, religious zealots, and office workers. Through them we are looking at ideas that shape North American’s notion of itself and its dreams for the future.
