Come to Mc Nally Robinson on Monday, February 7 for the latest installment in their Small Works Series, a monthly exhibition of works by Winnipeg artists at Prairie Ink Restaurant & Bakery.
The artist's talk will begin at 7:30 pm with reception to follow.
Sue Gordon has long been fascinated with the prairies, with how living in wide-open spaces lets us see so much sky and weather. Her prints and encaustic works are largely about the ties between land, prairie architecture, and memory, as well as our relationship with weather. Recently, her work has explored the effects of time on everyday objects, how they are imbued with new meanings as they disintegrate or rust.
Her work has shown at galleries in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, St. John’s, and Lunenberg, and locally at Fish Fly Gallery, Twist Gallery, and Martha Street Studio. It can also be found in various collections, including the Government of Manitoba.
